Bellboy

After the time of the meeting in the highest tower of the castle comes the time of exploration for the Bellboy. In this second EP, it is at the mercy of the wind and the snow that the Bellboy invite us to dive even deeper into their universe. They travel first through memories: an unexpected meeting, their childhood, or even simple moments spent together watching time slip away... Then, little by little, they return to earth, find the wind and the snow, observe a world that changes and fades away. From electronic abstractions to the lapping of acoustic guitars, the music also tells, when words fail, the sweet and precious idyll of the two lovers. It is the eternal tale of the shepherdess and the chimney sweep, of Romeo and Juliet, of Sailor and Lula... of Bellgirl and Bellboy. Bellboy sees his music as a perpetual search. Exploring many styles and always curious to discover new sounds, the objective of their experimental work is to create songs in French, in pop format, served by unexpected arrangements. For this first project, the duo brings together the vocoder and angelic choirs, drum machines and violins, harpsichord and DX7. The lyricism of Ennio Morricone and François De Roubaix, the eclectic work of Ryūichi Sakamoto and Air or the poetry of Brigitte Fontaine and Yves Simon inspired the baroque and futuristic aesthetic of this small contemporary opera.
