“From their encounter in the tallest tower of the castle to their wanderings in the black grass, here comes the story of Bellboy.”
Here is BELLBOY, the new signature of the microqlima label (L’Impératrice, Claude, Fils Cara…).
Bellboy sees their music as an ongoing exploration. For their debut project, the duo brings together vocoders and angelic choirs, drum machines and violins, harpsichord and DX7. The lyricism of Ennio Morricone and François De Roubaix, the eclectic works of Ryūichi Sakamoto and Air, as well as the poetry of Brigitte Fontaine and Yves Simon, have inspired their baroque and futuristic aesthetics.
From electronic abstractions to the gentle strumming of acoustic guitars, the music also narrates, when words fall short, the sweet and precious love story of the two lovers. It’s the timeless tale of the shepherdess and the chimney sweep, of Romeo and Juliet, of Sailor and Lula… of Bellgirl and Bellboy.
